Welcome and Introductions

Conrad Thiede, immediate past president, introduced new and returning Board Members.
Andy Chirch called his first meeting to order as DRC President at 6pm. This was followed by introductions of those in attendance.

Cincinnati Police Department Update: Lt. Neudigate

  • Captain Neudegate announced street closings beginning Friday, May 22nd for the Taste of Cincinnati
  • Automobile break-ins necessitate on-going prevention education to the public

Cincinnati Fire Department:
Representatives were called away for official business

Guests:
Cincinnati Public Schools Rothenberg Preparatory Academy Project: Michael Burson, Robin Brandon (Project Coordinator), and Dan Shapiro (GBBN Architects) The renovation of Rothenberg School has been funded and will proceed
There will be an increase in the student capacity
A comprehensive overall view of current renovation plans was presented. Included were a new gymnasium, playground expansion and additional parking.
Completion date is expected to be the 2011-2012 school year

ANNOUNCEMENTS

The following announcements were noted:

  • Albert Hallenberg, The Public Library of Cinti and Hamilton County, distributed How is Your Library Funded? bookmarks

  • Findlay Market hours have been expanded & OTR Beer Garden is open
  • Casey Gilmore - Music five nights a week On the Square; food vendors; Movie Night; Family Days Sat. 1-5:30pm; sponsor is biggs

  • OTR Chamber 3rd Annual 5K Walk and Festival, June 20th ; Sunday on Main was a huge success
  • Alicia Smith, Principal of Rothenberg School will present at the June meeting
