Welcome and Introductions

Conrad called the meeting to order at 6pm, followed by introductions.

Cincinnati Police Department Update: Lt. Neudigate

  • Sgt Vogelpohl re: re-accreditation of CPD. Brought surveys to determine how CPD doing
  • Sgt Saunders re: crime prevention, theft from autos awareness. Flyers available from DRC Introduced newly graduated recruits

Cincinnati Fire Department
Shana Johnson from 9th & Broadway Engine 3
Change to Daylight Savings Time, reminder to change smoke detector batteries
3700 runs last year for the engine
Let CFD know if your building would like to get set up with a special access key

Motion was made to accept last month's meeting minutes by Mr Kuhn, 2nd by Casey Gilmore. Approved unanimously

  • Downtown considered a hard to count area by bureau, would like your help in building awareness
  • Look for mailers, PR campaign, census workers. Please help make sure everyone is counted
OLD/REGULAR BUSINESS: COMMITTEE UPDATES

Nominating Committee: (by Shirley Newman)
Recommends slate of Chris Smith; David Siders; Allison Kamine; and Marty McGlinchy
At next meeting, DRC will vote on this slate (yes or no). Any additions need to be made today or April mtg show what happened last year.

Budget/NSP
Unchanged since February. 2 page document in agenda packet. Also available on DRC website.
Boundaries were read anyone living within these boundaries was permitted to vote. Motion to accept budget: George Verkamp; 2nd by Mr Kuhn
Vote was taken, 37 in favor; 0 opposed; 2 abstaining. Passed

Green: (by David Siders)
Mayor's recycling challenge. DRC hit its goal of a 5 ton increase. $250 prize for a beautification project.
Green committee to recommend a project to utilize the $250.
Computers and hazardous materials: Hamilton County provides a disposal service during the summer, working with Dan Korman @ Park + Vine. Contact Mr. Siders for details
Library green programs coming in March: Green University 3/31; Bike/PAC - May, Cincy Locavore - June

$45 in deposits; no expenses; $9524.32 balance. Contact Chris Smith with any questions

Clean & Safe: (provided by Conrad Thiede)
Won partnership award from Convention & Visitors Bureau
37 e 7th Street Bagel & Deli shop opening. DRC did not object to liquor license application
Great American Cleanup April 25th Saturday morning. Possible sites: Base of walkway to Mt Adams by Gilbert. Also path to the Taft near Purple People Bridge. Contact Paul Westendorf with questions

Social committee
Washington Platform Thursday March 19th. McAlpin in April. May 16th from 12pm to 2pm DRC picnic at Betts House; June Architectural foundation of Cincinnati is hosting our event. Tonight's after-hours at Café Martin

ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • Dr Bob's vet clinic opening on April 1st
  • Palomino coupons provided thru Conrad to desirous downtown residents
  • Christopher Marcus Salon opening moving from Hyde Park
  • Jazz night at the Hilton. Live music at 5pm on Saturday, happy hour pricing, Orchids just voted best restaurant in the city.
